I’m Lukas Meyer, DeFi & Infrastructure Editor at cryptoinfomation.com. I was born in Zurich, Switzerland, and studied Computer Science at ETH Zurich, where I first became interested in cryptography and distributed systems.
I began my career as a backend engineer at a Swiss fintech company, building APIs and risk systems for traditional finance. Around 2018 I discovered Ethereum and quickly moved into smart contract development and protocol research. Since then, I’ve contributed to open-source tooling, participated in security reviews for DeFi projects, and advised teams on protocol design, token models, and governance mechanisms.
My strengths are deep technical analysis and system design. I cover DeFi protocols, base layer blockchains, layer 2 solutions, modular architectures, and interoperability technology. I enjoy breaking down complex mechanisms like automated market makers, lending markets, MEV, restaking, and rollup frameworks in a way that is accessible to technically minded readers without oversimplifying the risks.
At cryptoinfomation.com, I focus on what is actually working on-chain, what is overhyped, and where the real innovation is happening. Outside of work, I split my time between Zurich and Berlin, enjoy long hikes in the mountains, and occasionally try to explain gas optimization to friends who never asked for it.
